“…Three French Hens, Two Surgeries, and a Partidge in a Pear Tree…”
We knew my DH would be having surgery on the 22nd from a work injury (bike cop). He crashed a couple of months ago and ripped up his shoulder pretty badly.
Then, Sunday evening my Oldest broke his right arm…crashing on his bike. (Um…seem very odd to anyone else? We really like continuity in our family). Anyway, this morning we went to get the cast put on his arm. I went thinking we’d walk in, they’d move it around a little and slap a cast on the sucker.
Well.
Due to the way the bone was broken, the orthopedist felt it was necessary to repair the bone surgically. That surgery will happen either next Wednesday or this Friday.
There was pity in the doctor’s eyes when he said it.
So, plans are changing, schedules are being rearranged, calendar items cleared. (And my consideration of NOT hanging lights outside this year is not even a question anymore. I’ll be happy to just get my shopping done.)
I probably won’t be posting much between now and Christmas, except for a few things here and there. I’ll definitely post the winner of the Holiday Giveaways that end on the 12th, though! Cant wait. There’s still time to tell your friends to enter!
So think of me as I stock up on chicken noodle soup, codine, and ice packs. Florence Nightengale’s got nuttin’ on me…

Poor guy(s)! I can’t believe you’ll have two “family” surgeries in one month. Let me know if I can do anything to help…really!

I will keep your family in my prayers…
My husband would love to ride his bike at work..He cycles to and from work almost 4 days a week. Then he is on his bike again on the weekends. It always scares me that he is going to get hurt.
I hope you get all your holiday shopping down and your family has a speedy recovery.

Yikes! Like Father, like son isn’t always the best thing ever, eh? Let me know if I can do anything to help, bring anything over, etc.
I’d be happy to.

Oh, Nicole. I’m so sorry. It changes everything, doesn’t it? Even for your other two boys. I pray for a huge amount of mercy and grace for your family this month.
